Welcome to

Built by the L&Y and opened in 1857 replacing it's wooden predecessor this grand old stone building has stood the test of time and is still with us today if a little neglected
Above: seen from the car park, this was once a busy station front, today it gets full with cars but usually staff who work in various offices nearby

Seen from the up L&Y from left to right:platform 1, 2 and 3
The overall station roof was removed as long ago as 1972 leaving the supporting wall behind on the right of the picture, apparently this wall has been recorded as a "listed building"

Taken during the demolition of the goods shed this image shows the size of the station
